Holocaust Memorial Košice

The building is under the ground, isolating itself from the surroundings via a “hole” around its perimeter in which the staircases and elevators are located. It has two floors, the entry one - with a coffee place, a temporary exhibition and all the restrooms, storage rooms, etc., and the lower one - containing an exhibition depicting lives of Holocaust victims of Košice. The core of the building is a deep and high space - an abyss - symbolising the core of evil and hate - fear. In the eye level of a passer-by the whole building is represented by industrial waste on its roof.
