Landscape Architecture, MA diploma project

Annotation

The thesis focuses on the landscape of the town of Lysá nad Labem, located in the fertile Polabí lowlands. It examines both the urban and agricultural landscapes, as well as the river landscape of the Labe river, which has undergone several transformations in the past. The main objective is to propose measures that will enable water retention in the landscape. This is crucial for increasing the availability of water for plants, animals, and human activities. Water is a fundamental source of life, and creating an environment that promotes its retention will contribute to the sustainability of ecosystems and the improvement of the quality of the environment. The overall goal of this proposal is to create a landscape structure that supports water retention, enhances biodiversity, and allows for smooth movement and connectivity between different parts of the landscape. This will create new opportunities and benefits for both humans and local wildlife and plants.
