Pankrác - the gate of Prague

On two urban axes, the newly designed area is based on the plan composition of two pentagons, the first on the western side of the axis formed by the old Táborská cesta (now Pankrác street turning into Budějovická street), the second to the east of 5. května street (the arterial road) and their intermediate element formed by currently unsystematically differentiated buildings. The concept of the design is basically summarised by two loose motifs... - A clear order of the body formed by the "skyscrapers" of the first pentagon and its vertical counterbalance in the second pentagon in the form of a double height - trees and the motive of direct contact - a bounded stream smoothly contacting the first pentagon and a footbridge contacting the second pentagon - - the river.
