CHEB - UNIVERSITY

This thesis deals with the design of a building for the J. W. Goethe College in Cheb, a project with the potential to solve the regional problems of the Karlovy Vary Region. This region faces several challenges, such as limited educational opportunities, and an outflow of young and educated population. The absence of a public university is one of the main obstacles to the Region's development. This paper aims to open a discussion on this issue and seek solutions that would contribute to the improvement of the situation in the region. This thesis project focuses on the architectural design of a college with a pedagogical focus. With regard to the so-called third role of tertiary education, the building is designed to be multifunctional and open to the public. The design incorporates spaces for lecture halls, seminar rooms, specialized offices, administration, public spaces, and other necessary capacities that will enable the full functioning of the college and its connection with the city.
