HÁLKŮV VRCH, KARLOVY VARY, SENIOR AND SOCIAL HOUSING IN THE SPA CENTER

The proposal focuses on a vacant plot located in the centre of the spa area of Karlovy Vary, on the slope above the Vřídelní Colonnade and the Theatre Square, where only fragments of the historical structure remain today. This site has the potential to be transformed into a vibrant, community-oriented environment that will offer affordable, quality housing for the elderly and those in need of social care. The proposal emphasises the social context, reflecting the needs of the residents and the city as a whole. The project aims to create innovative forms of housing that integrate appropriately with the history and character of the spa centre and deliver a sustainable urban design concept for the future. The plan includes residential units of a social nature with shared facilities, community spaces and commercial spaces with the necessary amenities, parking appropriate to the capacity of the individual units and connections to the surrounding green space.
