Annotation

For a long time, the park near the former Holešovice-Bubny railway station served as a parking lot, a scrap yard and a dumping ground for all kinds of rubbish in one. Rather than a park, the area could be called one big vague terrain. But that's the end of it. With the new urban planning study that the planned park is part of, the site is set to become a new memorial that will quietly commemorate the millions of Holocaust victims. But the proposal is not only about commemoration, it is also a celebration of life, in the sense of a partial materialization of the moonscape after Peter Ginz, the brilliant Jewish boy who was murdered along with millions of others in the Auschwitz death camp. The memorial, which is full of life, thus becomes the best memento for future generations with a clear message that the hope of freedom and the human will to live cannot be defeated.
