Erasmus Exhibition
Vale Vivo - Living Vallley

Annotation
The project is located in the Chelas area of Lisbon, Portugal. As part of a group effort, we worked on urban planning for a valley intersected by a highway. The goal of the project was to improve the functionality and aesthetics of this space, which our group addressed by proposing to relocate the highway into a tunnel, freeing up the surface for the creation of a park. This park would serve as a connection between both sides of the valley, improve accessibility, and provide new public spaces for the local community.
As part of my individual project, I designed a building situated on the edge of the detailed urban planning area, offering stunning views of the valley and combining public and residential spaces. The building features gallery-style access with communal spaces on the rooftop.
my key experience from erasmus
In the studio, we spent significantly more time designing the urban planning, leaving less than a month to work on the design of the apartment building itself. What we would typically dedicate an entire semester to in Prague was expected from us in a very short amount of time, which led to shortcomings in the projects of other students. Due to the lack of time, I was mostly told, "Yes, it's nice, keep going." This gave me creative freedom, and for the first time in my studies, I created something entirely on my own terms.
Working in a group was particularly challenging due to the language barrier. However, what I realized was that FA CTU had prepared me well for real-life challenges, and the knowledge level of my peers was generally lower in comparison.
