Lipno region landscape

The Lipensko area is part of the extensive Šumava Specific Area (SOB1), nationally significant for its unique natural values and high tourist appeal. The study‘s first part identifies key natural elements—floodplains, wetlands, and landscape qualities—proposing their protection and integration into the Regional Development Principles (ZÚR) due to insufficient current safeguards. The second part of the study will define the Lipensko Specific Area of national significance, addressing the specific needs of this part of the landscape. Due to the proximity of the Lipno Reservoir, this area requires a more detailed and targeted approach to planning and management than the broader concept of the Šumava Specific Area allows.
