Municipal swimming pool Smíchov

A river. Water. Vltava. At the riverbed, in the bay, in a piece taken by nature. Nature, wildness. Pebble beach, embankment. Vyšehrad and the bridge. The construction of the swimming pool is located on the Smíchov embankment, now forgotten, occupied only by birds. It has an exceptional character - a piece of wilderness in the city. Part of the waterfront where the Vltava is accessible. From the urban point of view, the proposal works with a delicate connection to the embankment, at the same time it aims to give a dignified end to the Smíchov embankment and its park, and above all, to make the Vltava accessible to the public. The city pool is not a sports area, it is a place to relax. It is a place of body care and thoughts. The space is adapted for this - simple, bright, communication with the river.
