Footbridge over the Berounka river

The footbridge is located in the Bohemian Karst Protected Landscape Area, between the villages of Beroun and Srbsko, near the Alkazar limestone quarry. Along the right bank of the Berounka river leads the hiking trail of St. Ludmila and also the railway. On the left bank we can find a widely used paved bike path. The design and shaping of the footbridge is based not only on the intention to connect two banks in the shortest possible way, but mainly to create an attractive crossing over an important river and also to create a place for rest on the right bank. Therefore the footbridge has a Y-shaped floor plan. Two shorter legs form a landscaped shore in the south, which serves as a stop for hikers, cyclists and paddlers.
