ORE MOUNTAINS - (CULT)URAL SPACES

Noé Dulac

Annotation

The project settles on the place of an old church destroyed during the second world war, in the heights of ČESKÝ JIŘETÍN, in the Ore Mountains. The village was deserted after the war, as all of the german population was pushed away from this side of the border. The project consists of three buildings that aim to offer new uses and new common places to the villagers : a Common Village House offering various activities (workshops, library, music room, shared home cinema...) with the reconstruction of the old church walls creating a stage next to it. An outdoor chapel for the summer times that is unused in winter and only creates a colorful beacon. An observation tower with a small shelter for hikers underneath it, giving view on all the surroundings landscape.
