TWO TOWERS

Two different worlds intersect on Rohanské nábřeží: the clash of the typical apartment buildings in old Karlín and the recently built solitary buildings, which perform mainly an administrative function. The concept of this design seeks to connect these two worlds, to awaken in this place a somewhat neglected human aspect and to mediate life for other social groups as well. The block consisting of several apartment buildings follows up to the historic apartment buildings in Karlín. Two towers erected at the edges of the block respond to the hybrid structures of the Rohanské nábřeží. The individual buildings surround a common courtyard on the south side. The building is designed for social housing for young families, single mothers, but also allows housing for larger families in larger apart
