Graduated from the FA CTU in the studio of Alena Šrámková. Together with Jiří Opočenský founded the o-va architectural office. The studio has won a number of invited and public competitions. For ten years of office existence, they have published the book "ov a 2007-2017". As a teacher, Štěpán Valouch is not a newcomer to FA, and in the academic year 2012/2013 he lead the studio of the first year of ZAN.
