THE CZECH HOUSE IN TAIWAN
Annotation
The Czech House combines purposes of a consulate, a cultural centre, international trade and living. It creates an imaginery bridge between the Czech Republic and Taiwan. The house with its slim and tall form embodies dignity and significance. However the strict structure is being deformed towards the street. Therefore, it takes on a playful, almost figurative look. The regular raster is interrupted with vertical tubes, which function as technical arteries of the house. From the busier street the house is perforated which creates an elevated public space.
