ORE MOUNTAINS - COMMUNITY CENTER ČESKÝ JIŘETÍN

Bc. Emílie Spurná

Annotation

The project aims to support cultural and social life as well as small scale tourism in the village. The two paralel wings which are meant for these purposes are connected by a low, flat roofed part which houses utilities and technical rooms. The front building facing the church contains an info-cafe, a hall with exposition of the history and traditions of Český Jiřetín and Ore Mountains and an attic equiped as a short term housing area that passing tourists can use. The smaller building can be used for event and workshops organised by the village or its inhabitants. Large sliding door connects the interior with a courtyard between the buildings. The surrounding area is adapted as a small public parc and replanted with privets, rowan trees, birch trees and a sycamore maple.
