Veselí nad Lužnicí

The cultural centre of Veselí nad Lužnicí is located in the focus of the village. The project is meant to transform this building and its surroundings, in the new centre of the village. The building and the different activities react to the main flows, creating the square where those are more important. This building is meant to be the link between the square and the forest by creating a public space as the transition of these two. It also works as the connection from one side of the river to the other and it creates a new flow that combined with the main one, develops the square facing the river and the entrance to the building. The idea is to preserve its essence by maintaining most of the materials and the structure, always taking care of the scale of the intervention.
