Annotation

The building in the heart of the Silesian metropolis–Pigeon Residental House ("U Holuba")–is a part of Opava-centre revitalisation project. After the WW2 nearly a third of the city was destroyed and historical urban structures faded away. We want to reconstruct these structures and bring the life back to the city. Pigeon Residental House is attached to the neighbouring buildings and co-forms the street line. The building itself encloses the courtyard semipermeably (and offers it to the residents) and also communicates with the street by means of a café and grocery shop. It’s vertically orientated defragmented mass is covered in the U glass and exposed concrete.
