Kalokagathia Park

We are Eliška Volencová and Alena Linková and together in the winter semester 2021/2022 in the Sitta-Chmelová studio, we designed a study of the transformation of a sandstone quarry into a new Brno Park. This is a locality in the Brno-Černovice district, where is a sand pit in the south, where mining has partially stopped and currently one of the mined pits is beginning to load with imported soil. Sand mining is now moving to a second pit, which is planned to expand north. We both have an opinion that a pit, as a visible trace of human activity, should not be established. An exceptional geomorphology was created here, which creates an original space that has no analogues in the Czech Republic.
