Board House in Bezručova street

Bc. Daniel Marek

Annotation

The Deskovka apartment building, towering along the city boulevard, forms an imaginary wall between two worlds - the urban and suburban lifestyle. On one side a busy and noisy street, on the other a quiet and peaceful park surrounded by residential houses. The idea is supported by the richly rugged southern façade reminiscent of the castle battlements. By folding the building towards the park, we gain space for people to socialize and a dominant entrance hall is created. The central corridor with the entrances to the maisonettes can be found on the 3rd and 5th floors, and the observer can get to the owner's separate apartment on the 2nd floor. The first and second ground floors are cladded in stone which creates an illusion of merging the two floors together.
