Smíchov´s island

A new figure of Smíchov is created between the cycle path and the train track. The solitary ensemble brings the deserted island between the tracks to life. The lower hostel respects the street line. Its facade is rational. It is separated from the residential building by an elevated courtyard at the level of the railway and cycle path. Luxury apartments with views on Vyšehrad, offer intimacy and are in the city center. In the middle we find more modest apartments. All have generous balconies. The facade lined with UHPC, dialogues with the hostel, the shutters on the south side add liveliness and timelessness to the shape. Protects against noise and sun. Both are perched on a concrete piedestal. A small, independent town is emerging, where we can find both housing, work and recreation.
