Brno, Cernovice - sand quarry

The aim of the urban-landscape study is to propose a gradual renewal of the sand quarry in Brno Černovice. The resulting state of the area should take the form of a city-wide park, responding to the topography of the area and to the local natural wealth. The Černovická sand quarry is a valuable locality in terms of the occurrence of a large number of endangered species of birds. The aim of the submitted proposal is to support biodiversity, healing the mining landscape and people. The process of landscape healing is considered in the proposal as a nature-friendly restoration through natural or controlled succession. The regenerating natural environment is designed in the design to suit different visitors with different needs and to act as a landscape with rehabilitation effects.
