Housing Nový Střížkov

The project aims to achieve a relatively high population density while providing a better living standard by making use of generous private courtyards. Clearly definable public spaces are developed from the composition of the adjacent street pattern and create opening meadowy courtyards facing the overview of Prague’s skyline. The basic unit is a three storey building in which two apartments are intertwined. These apartments consist of three bedrooms and a private garage on the ground floor. The urban blocks generate a human scale public space between them while also striving for economic feasibility. At the same time, the neighbourhood creates opportunities for suprising perspectives and unexpected encouters.
