Annotation

The biggest coal mine in Czechia. Huge pit with area about half of Prague and depth of a quarter of kilometer. Cut off landscape, lost memory of the place, devastated nature. Mining is permitted till 2055 in current limits but what should we do afterwards? The project looks into a reclamation of whole area of the mine and its reconnection with the surrounding landscape and the town of Bílina. Succsession as a cornerstone of the design and the most suitable way of returning the area back to the hands of nature. To cure, to heal, let the people carefully use it and strenghten their identificaton with the whole region. It is designed a concept of the whole area and also three detailed parts of it.
