Giraffe Pavilion Plzeň

The main points of this project were the keeping of the nature and character of the site, the desire to release the animals from the cramped original pavilion and move them into a spacious area. The giraffe pavilion is designed so that visitors entering the observation area have direct contact with the giraffe, which they see in the background of a real landscape that imitates the natural savannah habitat. The visitor is separated from the giraffes just by a large panoramic window that offers a view into the outdoor courtyard. The restaurant with a terrace is located at the very south of the site. This allows to comfortably observe the giraffes in the north direction without unpleasant lighting.
