OPENING THE ENCHANTED CASTLE

The northern forecourt of Prague Castle connects to the axis that leads from the Letna Plain through Chotkovy sady, the Royal Garden to Střešovice. It was once thought that it should be an alternative access road to Prague Castle. During the analysis of Baroque fortifications in Prague i found out about Lumbe Garden. Only few people know about this place. The closed gates are guarded and behind a high stone wall they hide a garden, orchards, flower beds, a greenhouse, but also Plečnik's viewpoint and an apiary for T.G. Masaryk, Lumbe's villa from the end of the 19th century, a listed burgher house or a pond, which was once founded by Emperor Rudolf II. So I ask, why is the garden not open to the public? And why isn't the Jelení příkop open?
