Restaurant Obora - Prague ZOO

Annotation

Prague ZOO needs to expand the orang-utan's exposition and design a new restaurant with a lookout point to Prague and its surroundings. The concept of the house comes out of a terrain morphology and the movement of visitors in the locality. In four storeys it connects the restaurant with a coffee house, souvenir shop, public toilets, apartments for visitors, a butterfly pavilion and a rooftop lookout terrace. The whole house is entwined by a wooden structure that connects everything and holds the house in place. Orang-utan's exposition proposal aims to afford them the best spatial conditions in both outdoor and indoor enclosures. The new pavilion with its height and length provides generous space for the natural movement of these primates.
