Center with temporary housing for victims of domestic violence

Temporary housing is start-up housing that provides a place to live to people in need, in this case victims of domestic violence. The goal of the program is to help individuals or families to get back on their feet, by providing housing with affordable rent and the necessary professional care. The one-story building is divided into two parts which is reflected in the shape of the building. The residential area offers 5 separately accessible housing units and some storage space. The center creates a U-shape around the outdoor terrace. This outdoor terrace is an important element of the design. The terrace is a meeting place for both residents and visitors, which is symbolized by a tree in the center. The terrace is accessible from the common corridor, which can be opened in the summer.
