Burza Art Café

Dita Šulcová

Annotation

The Burza Art Café is located in the Holešovice Market Hall, in the neo-renaissance building of the original meat market dated back to the end of the 19th century. The interior design follows the forms of historical architecture, the underlying principle being the arch. The arch is reflected in the movable partition walls as well as in the furniture and lighting. While classic terrazzo is used as floor and wall finish, wire mesh is on the modular movable partitions reminds of the original function of the Holešovice Market Hall - a slaughterhouse - and the metal cages used to house slaughtered animals. The softness of textile on the seating furniture stands in contrast to the rigidity of the metal. Lasvit's UOVO chandeliers dominate the entire space.
