Annotation

The priority of the design was to connect the important points of Pilsen as easily as possible - the historical center, the railway station, the newly proposed quarter, the ring park and the embankment. This led to the initial decision to demolish the existing pair of footbridges and design a new one. A ramp has been placed next to the footbridge to provide a barrier-free connection between the right bank and the embankment. Its specificity lies in the lifting system in case of floods. The ramp is self-elevating - it uses the water pressure itself as a source of energy for lifting.
