Vršovice, Prague. A residential structure, from the main street resembling a strict, dignified block, with a commercial parterre, which, despite its location on the edge of the district, still wants to belong to Vršovice. Inside, however, it hides a more intimate informal space filled with greenery. The massive, heavy parterre brings stability and security to a fragile, challenging time. The flats are much more delicate. In the variation of courtyard, I look for the softness, the calm, the intimacy of smaller informal spaces in contrast to the solid, heavy city. And lots of tall trees. The tall trees inside the structure reach into the living rooms, the leaves almost fall into the plates of the tables set on the terraces. Even in a congested city, the qualities of nature can be implied.
