Annotation

Nestled in the heart of Bhutan, this block of flats rises like a verdant oasis, a beacon of sustainability and community. The use of bamboo, a renewable resource, helps to reduce the environmental impact of the building, while the rammed earth ground floor adds a sense of connection to the earth. The bamboo, a symbol of strength and resilience, imparts a sense of warmth and welcoming to the structure. Inside, the flats are bathed in natural light, filtered through square openings in the walls. Each floor boasts a shared praying room, a sacred space that fosters a sense of togetherness among the residents. This building is more than just a place to live, it is a community, a sanctuary of sustainability and connection. It is a home for the soul.
