APARTMENT BUILDING FOR BHUTAN

Diana Shagidullina

Annotation

The residential building consists of two masses. They are connected by a tree-like common core. The main idea was to create a house that would be as connected as possible to the local landscape despite its location in the city. The inhabitants have contact with nature in the communal gardens that are located on the sides of the housing units. The large windows allow a lot of light into the apartment. The appearance of the house is inspired by traditional urban Bhutanese architecture. Traditional details like rabsel, window frames have been used in the design. There are a total of 14 residential units in the house. A large area of the apartment is occupied by a versatile space where the occupant can arrange everything according to his needs.
