Family houses in Bhutan

Adelina Ampilogova

Annotation

Hidden treasure between mountain ranges, 3 generation family houses were designed as a form of respect for the Bhutanese traditional architecture. Houses are floating across the water and have their own private spaces. A huge terrace brings together all of the 3 family houses and offers a stunning view to the opposite side of the Mo Chhu River. The design has been conceived to express the beauty of Himalayan kingdom though the careful use of resources. South oriented façade is a highlight of the concept. It includes the Trombe wall, which reduces the need to heat the building using traditional methods. 3 generation family houses allow you to fully perceive the kingdom of Bhutan - one of the happiest countries in the world.
