Armbrace from recycled filament for 3D printers

Annotation

Nowadays, we can print anything on 3D printers. However, the lifetime of the products is often very short and together with failed pieces they go to the trash quickly. Prusa Research is therefore looking for ways to use recycled filament in a practical way, on a large scale and without greenwashing. Armbrace from recycled filament combines simplicity, maximum use of the material's properties (colour, shaping possibilities, strength, perfectly smooth surface) and ecodesign. The armbrace serves as an inexpensive variant of orthoses, designed for minor injuries, bumps or healing of fractures. The simple manufacturing ensures low cost and after removing the straps the material can be recycled again. It is a simple design that helps people and nature in the same time.
