The new building ensemble along Tyršova Street predefines a new cultural center of Žatec, bringing the district and its industrial architecture heritage back to life. A main goal of the complex is to strengthen the image and identity of the city as the core of a hop region with a unique history and prepare it for becoming a part of UNESCO world heritage.
What represents in the best way the town‘s past life, are its traces - from factories and deposits to single photos and documents. The Methodical Center of Agrarian Architecture and Art + Crafts Centre PLUS aim to preserve all these traces of hops growing, harvesting and processing. Similar to Žatec itself, PLUS is characterized by its autonomy, offering space for research, consultation, planning and realization of heritage preservation.
