Cranes

Annotation

The Sun is rising over Dělnická street. Dancing rays of light are shining through the dust slowly rising from the building site. Excavator engines are powering up and crane arms are reaching to the horizon. I am walking through one of those arms. My design of the bridge stretching over the building site of the new city quarters, Bubny - Zátory, is inspired by traditional bridge types with a bridge deck embellished with statues or other decorative features. In my version, statues are substituted by stylised cranes that were typical for the Holešovice docks. I am using them as a reminder of the recent industrial history of Holešovice. Each of the cranes can serve as a viewpoint or resting place.
