DOG SHELTER

Eliška Cibulková

Annotation

Mezitratí. The outskirts of the city, a forgotten place bounded by the railway. Here we design a shelter, a temporary home for stray or unwanted dogs. In the area in front of the bridge, I design a public courtyard, from which parts of the shelter with different functions can be accessed - a veterinary clinic, a cafe, a dog school, a dog salon and a hotel. The training hall becomes the center of the space. The shelter itself consists of two rows of pens, parallel to the track. I design simple buildings from concrete blocks. In the middle I place the service building, which the day-to-day running of the shelter spins around. A shelter as a place that waits-for dogs and for people who come. Which is a new home. And also a place to say goodbye, because the destination is elsewhwere.
