Community center for cancer patients

Annotation

Mentions of the Petynka homestead date back to the 17th century. During its history, the building changed its purpose several times. However, it operated for the longest time as a center for persons with disabilities. I'm following up on that in my own way - I transformed a former homestead into a community center for cancer patients. As the only building in the entire complex, I decided to preserve the oldest part, the core of which is the former Baroque homestead. An atrium runs through the new building, starting on the 1st underground floor, where the swimming pool is located. The ceiling of the pool is made of glass luxfers, through which subdued daylight penetrates, creating an intimate atmosphere. The atrium continues through all above-ground floors and is terminated by a skylight.
