DOG SHELTER

Annotation

There is a stigma about dog shelters in society. They are seen as noisy, unclean and unpleasant-smelling places where people spend minimum amount of time necessary. Most examples of shelters in the Czech Republic confirm this stigma. The challenge of this proposal was to defy this reputation. It was inspired by shelters in countries with more advanced culture of caring for unwanted animals. The premise of this proposal is to create a place that can be visited without the obligation for adopting an animal. Therefore, additional public functions have been added to the shelter to fulfill this premise. At the same time, great care was taken to link these functions correctly so as not to compromise the main function.
