MUSEUM OF WINTER SPORTS in HARRACHOVA

The main idea was to create a hybrid upper/underground building, with the reference of the zig-zag movement of the slalom-ski sport, focusing on highlighting the view. Key-points to achieve this was to take advantage of the slope of the field, creating two big upper ground volumes marking the two entrances and two ethriums below the level of the field. This contrast creates a dynamic scheme, with a distinguished presentt on the field. In the interior, there are stairs/amphitheater with a huge skylight, focusing on the main attraction of the village, the nearby ski-slopes. In the exhibition rooms, natural light comes inside from the two ethriums, creating a nice atmosphere in combination with the smooth artificial light.
