Voliery theatre

The new modern theater with glass facade is located in Poruba, the most populated district of Ostrava. The square on which the theater stands completes the well-known main street Hlavní třída, but leaves the free continuation of the axis. This was achieved by the colonnade, which is then connected to the north facade of the theater. The dominant feature of the theater is the staircase. Platforms at different heights resemble perches, which inspired the theaters name. Their color is inspired by the Poruba Sorrel. The theater has two theater halls: a large one with a capacity of 780 seats and a small one with a capacity of 202 seats. On the roof of the theater is a glass dance rehearsal room. The square is inspired by the four elements - water, air, fire, earth.
