FLY-BOX | FILM SCHOOL

The film school is designed in Prague between the Flora metro station and the Orionka tram station in Vinohrady. It was essential in the design to overcome the large watertank, occupying almost the entire site, and to preserve the existing buildings serving the watertank. Our concept was to unite both functions into one mass. On the facade, the different functions are visually separated. The film school occupies the entire first floor and contains of classrooms, offices, a library and a café for students. Recording and screening rooms that need more space permeate the next floor and form an atrium between them. On the second floor, student housing is located around the perimeter of the building, creating an enclosed outdoor space for student recreation.
