Quarry break

The functionality of the Mariánská skála quarry, located next to the river bank in Ústí nad Labem, is slowly coming to an end, and thus a question arises: "What next?". The possibilities of using such a large inhospitable environment are various, but for this project the theme of short-term accommodation in the form of glamping was chosen. The main element of the concept of the newly proposed glamping area is based on is fracture/breaking. It is an element that can be seen everywhere in the quarry. From the sharp edges of blasted rock, to the zigzags of man-made roads used to service the quarry. This element is introduced into the concept by means of smaller wooden cabins, which are thoughtfully placed in the terrain and together with other structures form a a glamping experience.
