The golden triangle

Bc. Markéta Pecnová

Annotation

The reduction of the bus station from eight to four platforms and the extension of existing rows of houses gave shape to a public space with the character of a pedestrian zone or a small square shielded from the parallel busy road. It offers tranquillity and a place to meet, say goodbye or stay the wait during journeys. The home front adjacent to T. G. Masaryk Street contains passages and thus connects the two spaces on foot. The ground floor contains retail space, with the bus station lobby and bistro at the front of the building. The sloped terrain and the diversity of the surrounding buildings allows for a play of heights and proportions of the designed masses. The second building is fronted by a two-level retail space and the end of the building houses a two-storey community centre.
