Žižkov ravine

Bc. Jan Dušek

Annotation

The plot is located in a valley between two prominent urban elevations - Parukářka and Vítkov. This became the main inspiration for the proposed architectural solution. Like these two peaks, the buildings themselves form a kind of valley - a gorge - between them. The aim was to create a housing block that follows the existing block development and at the same time brings a contemporary and new approach. Therefore, the perimeter of the group of buildings clearly follows the street network of Žižkov and its block structures, however, it is torn and divided in the middle and inside. The mentioned fork provides a parallel to the surrounding two hills and the valley between them. This division creates a composition of two "L" shaped buildings facing each other.
