Swimming Hall Libuš

Bc. Petr Matyáš

Annotation

The work deals with the design of a sports pool in Libuš, Prague. The swimming pool building is the first dominant feature on the axis of the main road when arriving in Libuš and can thus become a landmark. The area of the pool hall faces south and the main road. This hall is surrounded from the north and east by its own background, which is lower in mass than the pool hall itself. This spatial and material hierarchization gives visitors better orientation and clarity. The pool part is made of glued wood trusses, the glazing is made of a light perimeter shell with a division with solid and glazed areas. The support structure of the background is made of reinforced concrete. The perimeter structure is made of Danpal panels, which are thermally insulating and transmit light.
