Residential building above the gallery

The residential building above the gallery is both a continuation of and a complement to the existing development. In plan, it veers away from the Kolín gallery, which belongs to the primary art school. This was one of the main points of the proposal. It was also necessary to take into account the positioning of the established plot. It is located in Úzká Street and is adjacent to the former military administration building. The main obstacle in the design was the lack of daylight. The plot is located in a courtyard and is therefore shaded by the surrounding buildings. I have divided the mass of the proposed building into three parts, the facade to the street is cascaded back to increase the daylight supply to the interior of the apartments.
