Square Under the Patron

Eliška Beluská

Annotation

The design of Pod Patronem Square in Černý Důl, surrounded by the expansive Krkonoše Mountains, was created with the aim of addressing intense traffic congestion while simultaneously providing a space for gatherings and information-sharing in this picturesque location. Its name refers to the baroque statue of Archangel Michael, the patron saint of the police, symbolizing courage and liberation from fear, positioned on the edge of the square. Beneath the square, a tunneled stream flows, connecting to it in the proposal and creating an attractive feature that links the square with natural elements. This allows visitors and residents to immerse themselves in a natural environment amidst the urban setting.
