City housing Jihlava

Annotation

The area is located on the western edge of Jihlava. The designed corner apartment building stands at the interface between the densely built-up urban development with the adjacent, newly designed square and the housing estate with a large number of public spaces. The main concept is to respond to these two different environments with its mass, facades and courtyard. Since the site is owned by the city of Jihlava, I propose urban rental housing with a target group focused on young people, the socially disadvantaged and starting families. The material solution is a combination of a concrete structure and CLT system. Wood construction has many advantages over other materials. Some of the biggest advantages are: lower carbon footprint, fast and dry construction, and prefabrication.
