A BRIDGE ACROSS THE AGES

The project focuses on three buildings in the Nachod castle complex; They form the heart of the castle and are accessible via a central courtyard that links them. A new cultural center will be built here. The fortress houses a theater as it was in the 17th century and an exhibition room on Czech performing arts. The challenge of the project lies in the physical connection between the fortress and the former ranger's building, to lead spectators from the foyer to the auditorium with a contemporary metallic footbridge between the two buildings, offering a unique view of the historic garden dating back to the Piccolomini era. The cultural center is designed to be accessible to all, and to promote dialogue between the ancient and the contemporary through its functions and architecture.
